About
Appalachian Ecological Consulting LLC is led by Ruth Cumberland, an ecologist with roots in Western North Carolina and a career built on rigorous field science across one of the most biodiverse regions in North America.
Ruth holds an M.S. in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology from Clemson University's Forest Ecology & Fire Science Lab — where her graduate research examined delayed overstory mortality following wildfire in Southern Appalachian forests — and a B.S. in Ecology from UNC Asheville.
